So if I didn’t get The Shot, do I still need it? I should be taking a multivitamin. I do take a D every night before bed. Heart and liver issues.

I think every human being needs to take it, because of its protective abilities and the impact they have on neurological diseases, all by the way have been found to be connected to the mitochondria, which niacin provides power to.

There is so much to write and explain about it. I'll do my best soon.

I wanted to find out the difference between niacin-aka-nicotinic acid and niacinamide-aka-nicotinamide. This quote explained at least one difference: Niacin is used for support for healthy cholesterol levels already within the normal range. Niacinamide is used for support for joint comfort, support for sugar balance and support for brain function, but does not support cholesterol balance. There may be more differences especially since the niacin flush that only comes from real niacin shows up in the exact areas not covered by bathing suits.

There are much more. I'll post an article on the reasons why you really want to take nicotinic acid, and why Niacinamide will not provide you the same benefits.

How much are you taking, if may ask? I think the main reason people's attempts to recover from the shot does not work is due to low dosage.

My wife and I used high dose flush niacin (2-3 grams daily in combination with high dose melatonin 10-30 mg daily) several times the last few years with great effectiveness to quickly eliminate flu/cold-like symptoms. It seemed to have a very profound effect on mitochondrial homeostasis. We did have to work up to those levels.

Is this the one that causes flushing? How do you prevent that?

No way to eliminate the flush except pop a Tylenol. Others have mentioned add vitamin c will help offset.

The melatonin significantly reduces the uncomfortable feeling of the flush. We started out with 500 mg NA/5-10mg melatonin and worked up to 2 g NA/30-40mg melatonin. Only for about a week though. Taken before bed worked fine as well.

Since reading Agent131711 substack, I have stopped supplements and just eat more of the right foods and cut out bad ones. You'll be shocked about supplements and fortified foods!
